Office of the Superintendent
IASD Community:
As I enter the third year serving as Superintendent of the Indiana Area School District, I would like to express my deep gratitude for the trust, collaboration, and shared commitment that I have experienced time and time again in our school community. These past two years have been marked by progress, resilience, and an unwavering focus on doing what is best for our students, and I am more hopeful than ever about what lies ahead.
Looking back on this past year, we have much to celebrate. Thanks to the dedication of our teachers, staff, administrators, families, and our community, our students continued to thrive both academically and personally. We celebrated an exceptional graduating class that included students headed to elite universities and academies, we expanded opportunities in STEM and career readiness, introduced new mental health supports, and enhanced safety across all campuses. Our athletic teams, arts programs, and extracurricular clubs showcased the talents and character of our students, bringing pride to our schools and joy to our community.
One of our most significant achievements was the advancement of our district’s Comprehensive Plan. What once might have been a document that sat on a shelf has now become a living guide to our shared priorities. Through focused collaboration, we will continue to make strides in personalizing the learning experience, curriculum alignment, and data-informed and evidence-based instructional practices. We’ve also strengthened partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and higher education institutions, ensuring our students are prepared for success in a rapidly changing world.
But as we celebrate these achievements, we know our work is far from finished. The years ahead present both opportunities and challenges. We remain committed to advocating for fair and adequate funding for public education, addressing the growing impact of cyber charter tuition costs on local budgets, and continuing to redefine and elevate student success. Together, we will tackle these issues with the same collaboration and determination that have brought us this far.
More than ever, I believe in the power of our community - our teachers who go the extra mile, our students who inspire us daily, our families who support learning at home, and our neighbors who understand that supporting our schools is supporting our community's future. With your continued partnership, we will keep moving forward with purpose, courage, and hope.
Thank you all for making Indiana Area a place where students are known, valued, and challenged to be their best. I am honored to serve as the Superintendent of such an amazing community, and excited for all we will accomplish together in the years ahead. Together we will continue to make Indiana Pennsylvania a great place to be!
