IASD students place in first round of PA Invention Convention competition

On December 14th, IASD students from East Pike, Horace Mann, Eisenhower, and the Indiana Area Junior High participated in the first round of judging for the PA Invention Convention, which was hosted by ARIN IU 28.


The mission of the PA Invention Convention is to provide students across the Commonwealth with the opportunity to explore, design, and create an invention to meet the needs of the end user while competing against other students for statewide recognition. 


The first place winners will move on to compete at the state level in Hershey, PA. First place winners for IASD include Avery Schneider and Adaleigh Maruca in the K-4th Grade division for their Sub Safety project and Penny Higbee and Sienna Oaks in the 5th-8th Grade division for their LS Holder. 


Other notable IASD inventors are Grant Rosendale, Jack Welsh and Emmit Wright who earned second place in the K-4th Grade division for their Portable Book Holder; Quinne Evans, 2nd place in the 5th-8th Grade Division for her Portable Fidget; and Bryce Jones, Jackson Sharbaugh and Gavin Woods who earned honorable mention (5th-8th Grade Division) for their UV Free project.
