Congratulations to our IASD students who represented our district at the state-level PA Invention Convention!
Fourth grade students Sam Sherman, Renz Cooper, Rowan Bopp, and Owen Nichol proudly presented Super Soccer Bud, a smart soccer ball designed for solo training. Their invention uses a microcontroller, sensors, and machine learning to recognize soccer skills like dribbling and passing, providing real-time feedback through a connected app to help athletes practice more effectively and affordably. We also celebrate sixth grader, Avery Schneider, whose invention SELf Check Challenge earned 3rd place in the middle school category. This innovative SEL system helps students build social-emotional skills by combining emotion check-ins, simple biometric feedback, and research-based regulation strategies to strengthen perseverance, self-control, and emotional awareness. We are so proud of our students’ creativity, problem-solving, and dedication—well done! Also, Mr. Gildea wanted to see what everyone would look like as famous inventors, so he asked AI to generate these additional pictures for fun!
