Teachers receive grants for innovative projects

Two Indiana Area School District teachers were awarded a $500 grant for their respective projects by Delta Kappa Gamma, an international society for women educators.

Ms. Koren Greene, the librarian at East Pike Elementary, was awarded the grant for her project, Making Literacy Magic: An Inclusive Multisensory Library Experience for Little Learners.

Ms. Monica Wilden, a kindergarten teacher at East Pike Elementary, received the funds for the project, STEM on Wheels: Mobile Innovation Cart for Hands-On Learning.

Projects were chosen to be recipients for DKG’s Innovative Teaching Grant for Women Educators if they enhanced curriculum, enriched student learning, applied a meaningful assessment, and had a quality grant proposal.

We are thrilled for these teachers to have the opportunity to further facilitate student learning, and we are grateful to Delta Kappa Gamma for promoting excellence in education.
