On Oct. 8, actors of The Rustic Mechanicals provided workshops to Indiana Senior High performing arts students. The following day, the troupe provided a performance of Shakespeare’s Macbeth to the drama students and junior class through their 2025 Vaulting Ambition Tour under the Vintage Theater Company.
Four workshops were conducted for students - acting, instrumentalists in theater, technical theater, and a workshop for LifeSkills and Autistic Support classes. The instruction was run by troupe members Sarah and Jason Young. The actors questioned students, pushing them to think critically about characters and inspired them to find deeper meaning in the performance.
This opportunity was provided by the generosity of S&T Bank and First Commonwealth Bank through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC). EITC allows businesses to allocate portions of their tax dollars to local school districts to help fund academic and enrichment programs.
Thank you to The Rustic Mechanicals for their dedication to inspiring IASD students!
