The Education Policy and Leadership Center of Pennsylvania (EPLC) is embarking on an initiative to gain insight from the public of the Commonwealth to hear their opinions as to “What education each child needs in today’s schools."
In 2023, the PA Commonwealth Court ruled that the state’s system for funding public education is unconstitutional. While that ruling focused primarily on funding inequities across the Commonwealth and the additional funding to make the system whole, it was also about the implications for what that money is spent on to educate our children.
This question is not for the legislature and governor alone to answer. It is a question that residents of Pennsylvania should answer, and their input should be shared with policymakers. To that end, EPLC is sponsoring a series of Public Forums to hear Pennsylvania citizen’s goals for public education. The Forums will be held virtually and facilitated by EPLC at three different times and dates in April.
