Message from the Superintendent

IASD Community:

It is an incredible honor to serve as the Superintendent of Schools. I am humbled by this appointment and promise to give my absolute best every day in service to this community and our students.

I will continue to have high expectations coupled with unconditional support for students and staff. We will continue working to create the optimal learning environment in each of our schools, so every student can achieve success. Our goals will not change, nor will our approach. We will still keep students at the center of every decision we make. We will not rest until every child can read by the end of grade 3. We will continue to enhance and improve our stem education programs to ensure that students are challenged to become critical-thinking, problem solvers of the future. Will continue to expand our Dual Enrollment offerings and partnerships in a commitment to provide college and career pathways that will give Indiana Area students a headstart on life. We will remain committed to developing partnerships with the incredible educators and professionals at IUP to provide our students an opportunity to take advantage of this incredible resource, and to provide the university with the tools they need to ensure their programs thrive and grow. We will remain committed to the principle that all means all, and dedicate our work to ensuring every student feels like they belong in our schools, and are empowered to be the best versions of themselves. We will continue to ensure that every student and staff member can come to work and learn in the safest environment possible. We will continue to provide the nationally recognized social-emotional learning that we have for our students, ensuring that they develop self-efficacy and resiliency skills that are critical to success regardless of what career path they choose. And we will continue to keep you informed every step of the way.

I ask that the community continue to partner and support our staff as we continue our work toward these goals. You will not find a better team of educators and professionals than here in the Indiana Area School District, but we are even better when we work together with parents. Together we will deliver on the promise of providing each and every child in Indiana hope and opportunity.

Horace Mann Building

Comment on the Repurposing of the Horace Mann Building

We want to hear from you! The potential repurposing of the Horace Mann building is an important decision that requires considerations of the community, the neighborhood residents, the borough, and the taxpayers. In order for the board of directors to make the best possible decision we need input from as many stakeholders as possible. Please complete this form if you have questions, comments, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
This community input form will be active and available for at least 90 days, and until the final decision is made concerning the use of the building.

We would also encourage anyone interested to attend the committee meetings over the next several months. At these meetings the board committees will be examining all potential options before the board makes the final decision.
