IASD Parents,
Please remind your students to bring their Chromebook tomorrow. It is very likely that desktop computers will not be operational, and students will need their Chromebook, even in classes where desktops are typically available.
Thank you.
IASD Community,
The Indiana Area School District has identified a cybersecurity incident affecting a local district server. Upon learning of the situation, district technology personnel immediately began investigating the issue and implementing response protocols.
The district’s Information Technology Department is actively working with external technology support partners and cybersecurity resources to assess the scope of the incident and restore access to affected systems. Additional technical expertise has been engaged to assist with response and recovery efforts.
At this time, there is no indication that student information, staff information, or financial data maintained through the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) systems or PowerSchool have been compromised. These systems are not stored on the affected local server and remain separate from the district’s local network infrastructure.
The district is continuing to evaluate the situation and will provide updates as additional information becomes available. Protecting the security of district information and minimizing disruption to educational operations remain our highest priorities.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of our students, families, staff, and community as our technology team works diligently to resolve this as quickly as possible.
Thank you,
Robert J. Heinrich, Jr.
Superintendent of Schools
Indiana Area School District
IASD upcoming Back to School Nights have been scheduled!

We were notified early this morning of a police incident in the area of 2nd and Water Streets. As a precaution, students who normally use the bus stop at that location will be directed to an alternate stop at 3rd and Water.
Officers from the Indiana Borough Police Department will be available to assist students in safely reaching the alternate bus stop.
Indiana Borough Police have advised that the situation is contained and poses no threat to the broader community. This temporary bus stop change is being made solely to keep the area clear while police complete their work.
