The first-ever IHS Combat Bot team, “Team Tomahawk” had an exceptional performance their inaugural preliminary competition earlier this week! Technology and engineering students who are taking the new Combat Robotics class at the Senior High had the opportunity to compete in the Bots IQ preliminary competition held at Westmoreland County Community College. The students have worked all year to design, build, test, and redesign their 15 pound robot to compete in the Bots IQ “Battle Bot” competitive robotics league. Indiana finished second overall after battling back through the losers bracket.
The IHS Combat Bot Team would like to give a special thanks to Unique Fabrication, Norma Group, and S&S Screenprinting for helping their team this year! Team Tomahawk is always looking for sponsors to join and help fund their team, as well as industry partners. If you / your company is interested in making a donation, please reach out to our business office at 724-463-8713, or through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies (specify it is for the IHS Combat Bots Program).
