Mr. Wade McElheny, Principal
Mr. Wade McElheny was named principal of the Indiana Area Senior High School in 2011. Prior to that, he served as the school's assistant principal for eight years.Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. McElheny began teaching in the 1994-1995 school year. He served as a social studies teacher (primarily Economics, U.S. History, and Law) for seven years, after which he served as Dean of Students at IHS for two years. Additionally, he has coached track and field and junior high football.
Mr. McElheny earned an A.A. in Humanities at Community College of Allegheny County, a B.A. in History with a minor in Pre-Law at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a M.S. in Education at Duquesne University, and Principal Certification from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He enjoys spending time with family, working on his house, riding his motorcycle and working with young people.
Ms. Erin Eisenman, Assistant Principal
Erin Eisenman joined the administrative team as the assistant principal at the senior high school in 2013. Her educational background includes earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology, a Master’s degree in Counseling with Secondary Guidance Certification, and Principal Certification K-12, all from California University of Pennsylvania. She earned an additional 24 credits in Special Education at Waynesburg University.
Prior to coming to IASD, Ms. Eisenman was the principal at ICTC, where she had also previously held the position of school counselor. Her professional background also includes serving as a drug and alcohol counselor and prevention specialist, a mobile therapist and a case worker for the Head Start Program.
She is a member of the Kiwanis Club and is a board member for the Indiana Armstrong Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission. Her hobbies and interests include reading and spending time with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys all things Disney!
Ms. Eisenman looks forward to continuing getting to know the student body and the faculty and staff at IHS.
