HOMEPLaTe: Indiana Technology Innovators (ITI)
Description: This 3 credit graduate course is a joint IUP/IASD offering only offered to IASD faculty. The focus of the course is to prepare Indiana faculty to take on leadership roles as technology innovators as the district prepares to implement 1:1 learning and as IDEAL expands into a K-12 cyberlearning opportunity for Indiana students.
Prerequisites (one of the following):
Summer 2014 Chromebook and Google Suite Apps Sessions
Chromebook and Google Suite Apps Sessions I, II and III offered during the 2014-2015 in-service day
Online Google Educator or Trainer Certification
Chromebook Features and Google Apps Boot Camp - May 22 (Inservice) or June 4, 2015 (inservice) or April Bootcamp (K-2)
Requirements: The course began on June 8 and will end after the final presentations on January 18, 2016. The course consists of 6 core mandatory sessions and 4 teacher-selected two-hour sessions. Participants are required to implement course material taught during the summer in their classrooms during the 2015-2016 school year and present to their colleagues. Participants may teach a session or two during the summer in lieu of a project. Each participant will be required to attend a follow-up session on the October 9, 2015 Act 80 Day with a Google Certified Trainer. At the final session, January 18, 2016, each participant will be required to make a presentation to District faculty/staff summarizing the implementation of course content and application in K-12 classrooms. January 18, 2016 will be dedicated as a Technology Showcase Conference day for all PreK-12 teachers.
