Types of Courses Available:

Credit advancement courses:  Credit advancement courses are available to students in grades eight through eleven and provide students the opportunity to earn credit for courses that are usually taken later in a student’s course sequence.  Completion of credit advancement coursework allows students to, among other things, “make space” in their schedules for other courses during the academic year and earn credits needed because of credit shortages resulting from family relocation.  Credit Advancement Geometry will begin on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, and conclude on Thursday, August 10, 2017.  Credit Advancement Computer Applications, Advanced Computer Applications, Health and Physical Education, and On Your Own will begin on Monday, June 19, 2017, and conclude on Thursday, August 10, 2017.

Please note that there is not a “physical” attendance requirement for credit advancement courses.  Students are permitted to complete all coursework online, but are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to receive instruction (from subject area teachers) in Indiana Area Senior High School’s IDEAL Lab.

Credit recovery courses:  Credit recovery courses are available to students in grades six through twelve and provide students the opportunity to recoup academic credit for courses a student failed to successfully complete during the regular academic year.  Credit recovery courses will begin on Monday, June 19, 2017, and conclude on Thursday, August 10, 2017.

Courses being offered include Common Core Math I, Common Core Math II, Common Core Math III/Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Life Science 6, Physical Science 7, Earth Science 8, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Reading 6, Reading 7, English 6, English 7, English 8, English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12, Social Studies 6, World History 7, America and the World I, Civics and Government, America and the World II, America and the World III, Economics, Psychology, and Sociology.
