IHS Invited to International Fringe Festival

The IHS Drama Program, under the direction of Mrs. Gretchen Barbor, has been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the 2012 American High School Theatre Festival, a part of the international Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland in August 2012.

The invitation to perform at this festival, which has been held for over sixty years, is an honor for the program.  Indiana Area Senior High School is the only school in Pennsylvania to be invited for 2012.  In fact, only 50 U.S. high schools are chosen to participate and IHS is the first high school in Pennsylvania to be selected since 2009.  Our students will perform along with professional theater programs and would stage their production four times during the Festival.

IHS drama students are now in the process of raising funds to create costumes, construct set pieces and props, and plan for the technical aspects of their production.  Each of the students are working hard to raise these funds in a variety of ways, including car washes, school bake sales, and a campaign for community support.
