October 2:  Mr. Poloff and Ms. Rinkevich take on some students during  the FUN Club kick-off.  Students and teachers were engaged in numerous "FUN" fitness activities all around the playground.  ("FUN" stands for Fitness U Need!)  October 3:  Eisenhower was thinking pink when the school community  raised awareness for breast cancer.

October 17:  Students in grades 4-6 participated in the election of student council officers.  Twenty-two students, candidates and their campaign managers, delivered speeches before their classmates, teachers and parents.   October 22:  Eisenhower students recorded a Red Ribbon Week message at the Renda Broadcasting Studio.

October 28-30:  Sixth grade students went to Lutherlyn, where they participated in environmental studies and engaged in leadership activities.   October 31:  The school community dressed up for Halloween and participated in classroom parties.  First graders also enjoyed wearing their costumes while visiting Victorian Gardens Personal Care Home.

November 4:  Second graders made signs and went to the Indiana County Courthouse to remind passersby to get out and VOTE! November 10:  Eisenhower students and teachers honored Veterans through songs, poems, essays and skits during the school's annual Veterans Day assembly.  The veterans in attendance were recognized and thanked by student council members.

November 21:  During the week of November 17-21, the Eisenhower Student Council organized their school's Love Basket collection.    Check back for an update on how many items were donated!  Thank you to Eisenhower families for supporting a worthy cause.  (It was also, coincidentally, Pajama Day.  Students dressed in PJ's so they were nice and comfortable for a day of reading!) December 10:  Sixth grade students participated in a Victorian tea party, in conjunction with their social studies unit.

December 10:  Eisenhower students have been busy raising money for the Teddy Bear Fund, which benefits Children's Hospital and the IRMC Pediatric wing.  One fundraising activity was "Game Night" at the school, during which children stayed after school and played some of  their favorite board games. January 12:  Eisenhower 4th, 5th and 6th graders participated in the National Geographic Bee.  Classroom winners went on to compete in the school Geobee.  The winner for 2009 was A.J. Shellenbarger and the runner-up was Eamon McArdle.

January 21:  Sixth grade students traveled to East Pike Elementary School where they joined sixth graders from around the district.  Eisenhower students performed a dance from Scotland and enjoyed the other schools' performances.  Additionally, the students danced several dances all together as a group.  It was a marvelous celebration of different cultures and marked the first official gathering for the Indiana Class of 2015.   January 23:  Kindergarten students in Mrs. Bond's class hosted an Author's Celebration.  They enjoyed sharing their stories and drawings with parents and other special guests.
January 22-23:  Students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade participated in an in-class "field trip."  Students worked in pairs to build battery-operated Lego vehicles, which they tested and then had an opportunity to race!
