Language Arts

Our Language Arts program in 2nd grade is a multi-text approach.  We use a series of Scholastic anthologies, multiple copies of trade books, and leveled readers.  We integrate our social studies, science, and health concepts into our reading program.  Children will be responsible to learn related vocabulary and read at least one book at home each week.  This approach works well with 2nd graders as they are reading, and writing about the same topic that is being taught in their science, social studies, and health classes.
