My family and I are excited about the upcoming school year. I am looking forward to getting to know all of the faculty, students, and the community surrounding East Pike. My daughter Bree, is going into fifth grade this year. She loves school and cannot wait to be back with her friends. Our youngest daughter, Brenna, is continuing in preschool this year. She has already picked out her backpack and is anxiously awaiting her first day as well. My wife Tamra is the Home and School Visitor with Ligonier Valley School District. Despite her love of her job, she doesn't have quite the same excitement as our two girls. As you can see, when the end of August approaches, our whole family is going back to school in some form or other.
We have recently moved into our new house. We are still working on finishing it up but love being out in the woods instead of in town. Since our home is out in the woods many of our visitors are the wildlife. We have been visited by deer, turkey, bear, bobcat and coyote. With this variety of guests, we never know what we will see outside our windows.
As you can see from the above pictures, our two girls are dancers. They dance in Pittsburgh at Studio 19 Dance Complex. This is Bree's passion and where she spends much of their free time. Brenna has one year as a dancer under her belt. She loves dancing as well. They both had a great time at Nationals in Myrtle Beach this summer. They are looking forward to learning their new dances and going back to competitions this winter.
I have several hobbies and interests outside of school. I am an avid outdoorsman and love hunting and fishing. For the past three years, this has been missing in my life. I have been very busy trying to get our house built, finish a masters degree, coach soccer, and spend some time with the family. With the house almost finished, I am looking forward to getting back to the outdoors in my free time. I also love working with my hands, from stained glass to laying cement block and everything in between. While education is my passion, I do have a family, interests and activities that fill my life outside of East Pike Elementary School.
