Physical Education

 

I.  Course Description - This class is one semester.  Mondays and Thursdays are fitness days.  For these days students have the opportunity at the beginning of the semester to choose between aerobics or weight lifting.  Students remain with this choice activity for the entire semester.  This course is required for graduation.

II.  Weight Lifting - The weight room has different equipment to choose from.

        - dot driller

III. Aerobics - Students will participate in various activities.

    cross country
    tae-bo
    yoga
    pilates
    plyometrics
    speedball
    crab soccer
    agilities
    add-ons

IV. Various Physical Education Activities - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday classes are various Physical Education activities that students rotate through with their assigned class.  Each activity lasts three to four days.  Some activities are performed together such as volleyball and dance.

V.  Grading - Students must be to class on time, be at roll call promptly, and dressed in appropriate clothing for activity.
     Points are awarded each day.  Absences can effect a students grade.  If there are more than 10 excused absences, students must make up classes.
     Students are encouraged to dress and participate to the best of ability each day.  Abilities differ but effort on trying hard and not giving up - should not.
