Dr. Jill Ashbaugh Earman
Principal

Dr. Jill Earman returned to the Indiana Area Junior High School as principal for the 2011-2012 school year, while continuing to serve in her role as the district's Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction.  She has served as an administrator in the Indiana  Area School District since 2000, when she became the assistant principal at the Indiana Area Junior High School.  She returned to the Junior High School as principal  in 2006 after serving for three years as the principal at Eisenhower Elementary School.  She became the Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction in 2007.  Prior to becoming an administrator, Dr. Earman was a mathematics teacher and interdisciplinary team leader at Hollidaysburg Area Junior High from 1989-2000.  She also was a member of the adjunct faculty at Mount Aloysius College where she taught computer science.  Dr. Earman is a graduate of Indiana Area Senior High School.  She holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Shippensburg University and an M.Ed. in Elementary and Middle School Mathematics from IUP.  She completed the requirements for  Elementary Principal Certification at IUP and Secondary Principal Certification at Saint Francis University.  She earned her doctorate from Duquesne University, specializing in Instructional Technology.  Dr. Earman enjoys spending time with her family.

 

 

 

Mr. Michael Minnick became the 6th grade principal at the Indiana Area Junior High School in 2011 with the grade realignment in the Indiana Area School District.  He had served as the principal at Ben Franklin Elementary School since 2004.  Mr. Minnick completed his undergraduate work at Kent State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  In 1996 he earned his elementary certification from the University of Pittsburgh, where he went on to earn is Administrative I certification in 2002.   Prior to coming to  the Indiana Area School District, Mr. Minnick taught for seven years in the Mt. Lebanon School District.  He enjoys being a part of the culture of the junior high school and sustaining it as a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young learners.
