Driver Education Classes
For
Whom?
The course is open
to Indiana Area Senior High School students who are 16 years of age or
older and
who possess a valid PA learner’s Permit or a PA Junior
Driver’s License by
the time driving instruction begins for the class.
Be sure to schedule and complete this class prior to graduation.
When?
The Driver Education
schedule for the 2011-2012 school year can be found by clicking here. Once maximum enrollment is reached, students
will have to wait to take
the next available course. Remember,
attendance is mandatory, so please plan accordingly
to your own schedule. During the
school year, classes meet from 3:00-5:00 (MWF) in the LGI at the high
school.
Summer session classes meet from 9:00-11:00 (MTWRF).
Driving is scheduled in order of registration for the class.

Benefits:
Attainment of safe
driving principles for the young driver. In
the classroom, students are exposed to all driving environments.
Concepts are then practically applied in the behind-the-wheel
phase of
the course.
Most
insurance companies offer a reduction in insurance rates upon
successful
completion of the course.
Students are eligible to apply for a Regular (Senior) Driver’s license one year after passing the test for their PA Junior Driver’s license, provided they have a violation-free and conviction-free driving record
Students may elect
to test with the program for a PA Driver’s license during their
final hour of
driving.
Cost:
A $50.00 laboratory
fee is charged for the behind-the-wheel instruction.
